character survey
Body and Appearance
Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Around 6'3" and average for her weight, and most of it is muscle. Think a warrior-slash-runner's body - not super imposing from a distance or under all the layers she wears, but very much capable of kicking some ass. She's got some long legs to go with it too, and they're not just for show.
How old is she?
Somewhere around 60-62. If we go off the assumption that she had Lucio shortly after taking over the tribe/marrying and the social expectations that come with leading (having an heir, etc) that'd have put her anywhere from seventeen to nineteen. Better to get the kids out of the way as soon as possible so you can dedicate all that time to raising them + dealing with the day-to-day business of waging wars with other tribes and taking care of your own people!
Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
She's never known a day of relaxation in her life and it shows. Head straight, shoulders squared, that sort of thing. If she means to get her point across she'll also look down her nose at them to really hammer the point home that She Is In Charge.
How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Very good, and surprisingly fit and spry for her age. She had the plague once and was recovering from it within a matter of days while her husband succumbed to it in one. To her, it was a summer cold compared to the entire nine months she spent pregnant with Lucio which is p r e t t y scary all things considered.
How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
She walks around like she's on the hunt. It's more of a stalk than anything, and it's her own way of asserting herself and her position. When she's with other people she tends to set the pace even if it's too fast, but if she really has to she can and will slow down.
But she's not going to be too thrilled about it. There's a time and place for the good ol' fashioned Slow-and-Steady, and it's rarely with her.
How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive himself in the mirror?
Monty's mom has got it going on.
In all seriousness, she's fine. She has a strong nose, sharp brows, sharp cheekbones and a body that you'd best believe she's proud of having in her sixties and after having a child of her own. She may not be "traditionally" pretty in the eyes of hoity toity nobles in their palaces, but who cares about what they think? Not her, gods no. She doesn't pay any mind to how others look at her because first of all) it's her body, and most important) she isn't here to look nice for other people.
And no, her wrinkles don't bother her. It's part of aging and she is doing that gracefully.
Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Pale. Oh, very pale. Stick her in the sun and she's likely to either set off a chain reaction of beacons being lit across several mountain ranges or burn to a crisp. Her hands are rough and calloused, and she's got plenty of scars across her knuckles and the rest of her body. Most notable is one right along her left eye from an unknown source, but more than likely it's another battle scar caused by another person or an animal.
Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Formerly platinum blonde now nearly completely grey. She has a section of it tied up, wears the rest of it loose and pushed away from her eyes/face and reaches down to her shoulder blades. It's surprisingly soft considering she spends most of her time in the woods and away from Modern Civilization and its amenities.
What color are her eyes?
Grey - they've been described as "colorless".
Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
She wears a type of kohl on her face in a pattern reminisce of a cheetah's tear marks, dark eyeshadow and
lip paint in the same shade/color.
What are her chief tension centers?
Someone give her a shoulder rub because they're stiff and sore from carrying the tribe by herself (THANKS HUSBAND) and everyone else :(
What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Leather, leather, and more leather with a fur-trimmed cloak thrown in for good measure. This hasn't changed throughout her life so her entire wardrobe more or less looks like this, and tends to lean towards browns, dark reds and blacks. The one constant is a cheetah pelt that she's had for an undetermined amount of time (most likely since she became chief of her tribe decades ago).
Really, she'll wear anything comfortable and has a strong distaste for ill-fitting lace and finery. She's a warrior and a hunter, not some princess.
You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Yes.
But really, it's most likely something along these lines (may be slightly NSFW?? idk, it's an old mosaic they found). There's nothing flashy about it in terms of looks or color, and she'll always take function over anything else.
Speech
What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
For now I'm running with the headcanon that she sounds like Suzanne Pleshette. A little rough, not too deep or too soft when she's speaking normally, and almost guttural when she gets truly angry about something. Her words are often casual, blunt and on occasion harsh but that isn't done maliciously - it's just her tone that makes it seem that much worse.
How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
Even, and just loud enough to be heard. Under pressure she can keep her voice level and under control up until something gets to her, and that's when she herself gets loud - profanities, her native language slipping in, things like that. The soft, gentle side of her voice is reserved for those close to her, and those are the moments when she's much more careful with what she says.
Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She has the equivalent of a Swedish-esque accent, and she makes no effort to hide it. When she's in the process of waking up, on the brink of falling asleep, etc. it comes out much thicker than normal. You know what that also means? Some rolling R's ;)
What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Her native language is described as deep and guttural, so it's most likely equivalent of Swedish/Norwegian/Icelandic/Old Norse. When she does speak it I try to keep it from around that general region since the first two are fairly similar to each other, and Icelandic is still fairly close to Old Norse. She doesn't speak it very often save to herself, her eagle Jæger and (probably) other Southerners like herself.
She can also speak the more common tongue in her universe - whatever the equivalent may be. Beyond that, she can pick certain words and phrases up from other languages around her world, though she's by no means fluent or even conversational in the rest.
Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
Both. Having been the leader of her tribe she had to speak on the fly, but also had to take the time to pick and choose her words carefully in the event of disputes, strategy meetings and the like. They may have been a band of warmongers but they weren't animals, you know.
Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Still both. She prefers to say and do things as simple as possible because it's easier, but she's capable of presenting herself as something more than just a "wild, barbaric heathen". It isn't something she does very often though purely because she doesn't... surround herself with the hoity toity rich sorts that laze about in their palaces all day. She's out there with the rest of the world just trying to live her life, man.
All of that goes out the window if you piss her off, though. And I mean really piss her off. She'll shout profanities and the like without a single care in the world and you'll just have to Deal.
Mental and Emotional
How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?She's more intelligent than she looks. Most (if not all) of her knowledge was gained growing up in the South with very little of it coming from other parts of the world. It's not that she was deprived of this knowledge, it's more along the lines that she just... didn't care. In most situations she's the sort of person to do things in a way she knows rather than the "normal" way that everyone else does simply because that's how she learned it.
In terms of battle and leadership, everything she learned was either by watching her own parents or trial bycombatfire. She has no "formal" training in either, but down in her part of the world there was no real need for it.
Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?Very intuitive and practical with a dash of logic. She relies on instinct and past experiences from her life to go about most things, and her view of the world is black & white.
What kind of education has the character had? They didn't have schools and such so far down South where she was born and raised. Everyone in the Scourge's village had a hand in teaching children what they needed to know whether it be their history and stories, or more practical things such as hunting, sewing, cooking, etcetera. Morga more than likely learned from her own parents and the village elders, and being her mother's daughter (who was most likely the village chief at the time), she was expected to take on more than the other villagers.
She can read and write and has a basic grasp of magic, but it appears to be a very old style of it. When it comes to math, sciences, and other things? She's clueless. It didn't belong in a tribe of raiders.
What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?Hunting and fighting. It's implied that she took leadership of her tribe at a young age (I'm going to run with eighteen), and she was able to keep her tribe alive for a good twenty odd years before a famine and subsequent Last Ditch Attempt of a battle claimed their lives. During this time she not only lead the Scourge more or less by herself (because her own husband was too weak to lead in her eyes), but also appears to have raised her son mostly on her own. When it comes down to fighting she's a force to be reckoned with, and hunting? Oh boy.
Her husband was said to be into hunting for the meat while Morga was in it for the kill. Once she decides to track someone, she doesn't give up until she decides it's over or she catches up to her quarry. At one point she was described to have "tracked bleeding enemy over six and two thirds mountains" until they could no longer run, and that? Is terrifying.
Is she an introvert or an extrovert? An introvert by nature. Morga isn't really what you'd call sociable nor does she make any effort to change that.
Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?It... depends. She comes across as distant and more than a little cold on an average day, so it's pretty hard to get a good bead on her. She's pretty blunt and while it seems mean, she doesn't always intend it to be. It's a clash of cultures more than anything else, but that being said...
Get on her bad side or do something that offends her? She can get nasty. Lost a fight because you just gave up or barely tried? She's giving you an earful. Fuck up? Earful. Murder your own father by making a deal with a demon and using foul magic to weaken him? Earful and banishment.
How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? She doesn't trust people very easily. Part of it comes from her upbringing and lifestyle where trusting the wrong person and having a kind heart can and will get you killed, and another part is just... because of who she is. She's quick to place herself in a position of power in most situations to prevent someone from pulling a fast one on her, but over time she can and will ease up and take a step back.
Is she more likely to act, or to react? It depends on the situation, but most likely act. She didn't get the reputation of being a fearsome, relentless chieftain by reacting the same way another person did to her demands/etc, but through action. Someone tantrums? She's going to stand there and wait until you're done, then carry on with her job. They become belligerent and take a swing for her? Well, that's where she hits back.
But most of the time she acts in a manner befitting the leader she once was.
Which is her default: fight or flight?Fight, 100%. Unless you're some eldritch being with an unhealthy relationship with death, then she's getting the hell out of dodge.
Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?TOO DAMN MANY. Look, she's in her sixties at least. She's had plenty of life defining moments and none of them were probably good except like... Three.
What does she fear?Valdemar
What are her hopes or aspirations?
What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
Relationships
Describe this character's relationship with her parents.Relationship status: Complicated.
But in all seriousness, they're both dead and given what we know of the Scourgelands, Morga probably did the deed herself but we'll probably never know. Given how Morga is, it could be implied that their way of raising her was very... hands off and the complete opposite of how Morga raised her own son. They didn't make an effort to give her special treatment, and they likely gave her nothing that she may have asked for. They raised her and took care of her, yes, but she never received the sort of affection and attention she wanted as a child and thus learned to shut her emotions off. Her father likely had a hand in teaching her to hunt and fight, but at the end of the day he was simply her Father and that was it. She had no close attachments to him.
Her mother is where I imagine she gets a lot of her harshness from. Eir was likely the chief of the Scourge before Morga took over and turned it into the voracious swarm that it became known as later on, but their relationship was the complete opposite of the Mother-Son bond that she had with Lucio. If there was one person that Morga respected and bowed her head to, it was Eir. She had expectations placed upon her the day she was born, and for the longest time the only thing Morga knew was that one day she would be leading the tribe and does it very well thanks to the rigorous training and preparation that Eir and her father put her through. Everything she knows - whether it be from communing with Vlagnagog, putting together strategies for battle, and what little she knows of magic? All Eir and occasionally others in the village (other elders, shamans, etc.) At some point (think ~17-18), Morga decided that it was time to take over. So, she challenged both of her parents.
She won.
Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?None, and thank god for that. One Morga is bad enough, but two of them?
Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? They're dead, Jim.
Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? The closest thing to a best friend she had was probably another villager around her age when she was growing up, but assuming they survived the hellscape that was the Scourgelands, they definitely beefed it during the last big fight she lead her people into.
Does she have other close friends?Jæger. There are no other friends, just that big eagle of hers.
Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? She can get along with people for the mmmmmmmmost part, but making friends is another story completely. She's really, really bad at it. Acquaintances? Sure, she's got a decent handful of those but actual friends? She's not the easiest person to get along with, so the number of people she can consider a friend is way less than you'd imagine.
Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?Married, widowed, and subsequently single. It wasn't a romance-based marriage, though she does look back on it with some fondness from time to time.
Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
What does she look for in a romantic partner?lol romance
Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?One son, and no grandchildren.
Her relationship with him is, uh... It wasn't always a mess, put it that way? For as harsh as Morga was/is on Lucio, she does genuinely love and care for him. She's just... emotionally illiterate and very, very bad at showing it properly/in a manner typical of your average parent. She treated him the opposite she was treated for sure though - anything he may have wanted, she gave it to him. She made him feel special because he's her son, gave him special treatment (even though it came back to bite her), and gave him nearly everything he wanted. Trinkets, attention, affection, the list goes on. She never let him get hurt on the battlefield, and in an effort to raise him better than she was, she overcompensated by a lot. Of course she had the expectation that he would one day lead the tribe in her stead just like her own parents did with her, but... she never let him fend for himself in the same breath. He's her baby, and you protect your baby.
Even when that same baby grows up and kills his own father, your husband, and try to make a go for you because he didn't get what he wanted for his eighteenth birthday :)
Does she have any rivals or enemies?Waaaaaaaaaay too many to count, oops.
What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
How does she regard beliefs that differ from her? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
Daily Life
What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
